What Makes Balmain Blazers so Great?

Balmain excels at classic silhouettes and styles – Especially when it comes to jackets. It’s all about blazers with embellishments, strong shoulders, and simple colors. Their blazers make me want to hold meetings in conference rooms and other high-stakes official business stuff.

    What Makes an Incredible Blazer

    • Strong Shoulders: A blazer is defined by its structure. What differentiates it from another jacket is its structured shoulders, lapels, and often embellished layered closure. My favorite element of that list is the shoulders. The more exaggerated the better!
    • Thick Material: Blazers should last. Their material is a key indicator of how long they do. What I look for in a blazer is a fabric that’s thick and durable above all else. After all, these are jackets! I want them to last in all conditions and for a long time.
    • The It Factor: This can be hard to judge online. Luckily what a blazer looks like on a model is usually pretty accurate to what it will look like on you; in terms of length and shoulder situation. What’s great about blazers is I love them cropped, long, oversized, everything! As long as a blazer is one of those things and does it well, they have the it factor.

The thing about Balmain is every jacket has the it factor. Every one is structured, sexy and amazing!

I love their jackets, but I’m not at the point in my life where I can drop $2 grand on them. Honestly, if I did invest in a Balmain blazer, I’d probably wear it every day. At least then the cost per wear would eventually even out and make sense!

Although since I only want to wear brands that are good for people and the environment, I’d prefer to buy a Balmain jacket alternative. The below list are my picks for gorgeous, structured, statement blazers. If you’re in the market for one of these beautiful jackets, do yourself and the environment a favor and shop secondhand first. (Reference our Brand Directory if you need some guidance on where to look.)

If it’s time for something new, below you will find our top picks for better versions of Balmain blazers!

    Final Word

Blazers are a closet essential. They can be used in both casual and formal outfits. They’re elegant. They’re professional. They’re everything!

The perfect blazer is a must and Balmain makes the best ones. Unfortunately, their price range isn’t currently attainable for me. Hopefully their prices drop soon or I find a gorgeous Balmain blazer at a thrift shop.

Until then, I have this list of ethical alternatives to shop! Which of these jackets were your favorite?
