    Why Buy Ethical Clothes?

They say every purchase you make is a vote for the kind of world you want to live in. That’s especially true for supporting ethically made clothing brands.

The fashion industry is unfortunately very destructive to the planet and a lot of its workers. It causes pollution, enables extreme poverty and promotes waste.

The best way to take a stand against their damaging impacts is to only support fashion brands that do good. It should be a priority to research brands before you buy to make sure they minimize waste, protect the environment and take care of their workers.

By doing so, you send a message that brands without ethics will not survive. While your choice not to buy one shirt from a fast fashion brand may seem like a small gesture, imagine if 100 or 1,000 or 1,000,000 million did the same!

Change starts from conscious action, and we all have a choice to do better every day. What better way to start than with your closet?

    The Brands

I recently visited my sister for her birthday in Houston. It was a really fun trip with lost of laughs and good food. During one of her gatherings, her friend asked me about Style Files. Specifically – what choices they offer men for ethical fashion brands.

Now, we all know about our exclusive Brand Directory where you can find a brand for every style and price point. However, the majority of those brands offer what is considered women’s clothing.

Yes, many brands offer both men’s and women’s clothes, but let’s face it. I’m a woman and I made a Brand Directory that caters mostly to women.

And excluding a gender from our Brand Directory runs counter to our mission at Style Files. We want to provide the resources anyone and everyone needs to make their next conscious fashion purchase.

Plus, there are many fashion-forward menswear brands that deserve to be showcased! They’re doing great things fashionably and morally. It’s time we give them their flowers.

Everyone deserves to look great while doing good. Thank you to my sister’s friend for the reminder.
