    Who is Alejandra Alonso Rojas?

Alejandra Alonso Rojas is a Spanish designer known for her knitwear. Her knit pieces have become her signature thanks to a long history of learning the craft. Rojas learned how to crochet knitwear starting at 4 years old from her mother. Although both sides of her family influenced her pursuit of the artistry.

Rojas’s family’s training was bolstered by her collegiate achievements. She studied at IADE, Central Saint Martins and Parsons in New York and Paris. After receiving a business degree from Universidad Carlos III in Madrid, she received her Master’s from School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

A lifelong of strengthening her design eye and education led her to create her namesake line in 2016. Given her knitwear background, AAR became instantly recognized for their luxury knitwear pieces.

As the brand evolved, you can now expect more than knits. AAR is synonymous with timeless designs – silk midi dresses, fitted cotton trousers and of course luxurious knit pieces. While the product lines have expanded, AAR’s influences have remained the same.

AAR makes beautiful clothes that are influenced by the designer’s family, nationality and heritage. Her pieces are sexy, sophisticated and luxurious. What adds to their appeal is their focus on sustainable practices.

The brand is committed to making their pieces with the least environmental impact. Silks dyed with turmeric and blackberries, biodegradable plastics, and cardboard hangers are normal sights here. From a people perspective, AAR garments are made by local artisans and small-scale factories. A welcome change to the detrimental fast fashion approach taken by the rest of the fashion world.

    Her Work

Alejandra Alonso Rojas makes beautiful, timeless clothes. You can expect everything from cozy knit dresses to silk/crochet gowns. While AAR has a wide range, each collection is connected by the designer’s heritage and background in knitwear.
