I can’t believe it’s been nearly 6 years since I stood front row at Beyoncé’s Formation World Tour in Minneapolis.
The concert was almost canceled since it kept raining on and off – Beyoncé came on stage about 3 hours later than scheduled. I don’t know if I made this up after the fact, but I’m pretty sure a light rain only restarted when Beyoncé sang Halo.
There are 100 Reasons to Love the Formation World Tour. Here’s our favorite.
The show was fantastic, easily the best performance I’ve ever seen. I didn’t know a 2ish hour concert could keep me intrigued and excited for so long.
A huge factor in its excellence was the costume design. I looked forward to seeing every (of the many) outfit changes for Beyoncé and her back-up dancers. Each one managed to be more spectacular than the last.
We owe gratitude to Marni Senofonte, Beyoncé’s costume designer and stylist for the looks. Check out their creative process for all of Formation’s costumes below.
