Every year I want new sunglasses. It’s not my fault! I see new gorgeous shades everywhere: on Real Housewives or walking along Washington Harbor upon the rich women who live there.
Sunglasses style inspiration is everywhere and it increases exponentially with warmer weather!
Rather than blame my insatiable fashion appetite for wanting a new pair every year, I prefer to blame the designers. They keep coming out with gorgeous shades I can’t resist!
This year, let’s lean into what we want. I’m not saying buy things just to buy them. I’m saying when you want something and you have an actual need for it, buy it! Just make sure your purchase is balanced by giving away something else you’re not as passionate about anymore; or some other action that discourages waste.
I figure one new pair of sunglasses per year is reasonable for my tastes and disdain for waste. Since it’s a rare purchase, buying the right pair is essential.
This in itself is a difficult task; there’s a pair of sunglasses for nearly every setting and mood! The sunglasses I wear to read a book on the beach are not the same ones I’d choose for a late-afternoon stroll. Despite the different occasions that require different shades, some styles are universal.
I had that in mind when I found the below sunglasses on my wishlist. They’re all versatile enough to wear nearly everywhere while still being uber stylish!
Which of the below pairs would you splurge on next?
Poppy Lissiman Heyuboy in Mocha
Oliver Goldsmith Sunglasses Ego in Seafoam & Champagne
Quay Real Me in Pink/Brown
Arms of Eve Jagger Sunglasses in Brown
Poppy Lissiman Crimpie in Clown Chunder
Final Word
What makes an ideal pair of sunglasses? For me only 2 things: versatility and style. Versatility because you have to be able to wear them for multiple, varying occasions.
And style since they must be fashionable enough for the current trends and to stay stylish for years. Looking out for these 2 features ensure your next sunglasses purchase will be around for a while.
We aim to be intentional with our purchases, right? And by consciously deciding where your money will go next you’re sure to buy the right pair of shades with no regrets!
