This week’s Project Runway has me lost for words. It was the unconventional materials challenge; The designers had to use anything and everything available to them in a cocktail bar to make a cocktail dress.
Frankly, I’m usually good without the unconventional materials challenge. I don’t find it necessary to give designers sticks and straws to make something runway-worthy since we see their creativity every week anyway.
But, this week blew me away.
I simply couldn’t believe the looks. They were all so creative and gorgeous and EXPENSIVE (looking)! Some of these dresses made of bottle caps looked more costly than previous challenges when they had access to a whole-ass fabric store!
Check out a sneak peek of the challenge and resulting looks here:
It was a truly awe-inspiring episode. Every designer this season is sublime and it’s an honor to watch masters perform their craft.
