What is Kheops?
Kheops is a brand about modern, sexy fashion. The brand was founded by Moldovan designer Victoria Cocieru and entrepreneur Mariana Badia. Although the brand started in Europe, it moved to America, specifically Los Angeles, where all of its collections are produced.

Kheops is all about earth tones. From this choice you’d guess they make wardrobe essentials like tank tops and simple tees. However, a quick glance at any Kheops collection reveals it’s all about sexy, edgy style. They pride themselves especially on their use of cutouts in unexpected places: blouses with small slits beneath the breasts, dresses with trapezoids cut out of the upper midriff, etc.
They describe their designs as being made for “fearless, uninhibited… modern women” and we’re compelled to agree.
I first learned of Kheops from Project Runway. Cocieru competed on the 18th season of the show; she consistently produced well-designed, well-made garments no matter the challenge. It was truly impressive to see the fruits of her creative process every week. Seeing what she did on that runway made me a lifelong fan of her work.
